Aroma Of The Andes Coffee & Tibito Chocolate Tasting

Last Updated 6/17/2026Posted in Small Business Spotlight, Chamber News

The tasting took place on June 6, 2026, at The Coffeehouse in Weston. Twenty-eight registered participants sampled a curated selection of coffees and chocolates, with freshly baked sourdough bread served as a palate cleanser between courses.

Those who attended were treated to 8 varieties of chocolates ranging from 100% cacao to 40% cacao and flavors of Hawaiian Sea Salt, Caramel, Coconut, Citrus/Mandarin. Then our hosts, Duane & Rachael Brown let us taste Columbia's first place handcrafted artisanal chocolate. A bonus!!

It was a fun and engaging event. We greatly anticipate the product roll-out of Aroma of the Andes's own Tibito chocolate bar!

Results of the Tasting

Participants evaluated each chocolate bar across a range of sensory qualities, including flavor preference, balance of sweetness and bitterness, texture, meltability, and aftertaste.

In the end, an 80% cacao bar emerged as the clear favorite. Close behind was the Hawaiian Sea Salt bar, featuring 70% cacao, while third place went to the Colombian Federation of Cacao’s first place, handcrafted artisanal chocolate—also boasting an 80% cacao content.
