SBA Disaster Assistance for Businesses
Yesterday, the Lewis County Chamber of Commerce met with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to better understand the disaster assistance that will be available to our community.
We are currently awaiting the official SBA disaster declaration. Once that declaration is approved, eligible business owners and homeowners will be able to apply for SBA disaster relief loans.
Based on what we learned, the application process is relatively simple, and because these are disaster relief loans, funds are generally disbursed quickly once an application is approved.
Business owners are encouraged to begin gathering the following documentation now:
- 2025 tax returns
- A current personal financial statement
- Documentation of economic losses
- Documentation of personal property losses
- Documentation of damage to real estate
The Chamber will continue working closely with the SBA and as additional guidance and resources become available, we will share them immediately.
Business Owners- If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Robin Poling Executive Director, or Kate Garton, Board President. We are happy to help answer questions and connect you with what resources that we have available now and answer what questions we can. Please note- you cannot apply until we have the SBA Disaster Declaration but you can be ready.
