What a celebration! The Mountaineer Military Museum 20th Anniversary and Grand Opening for the season.

It was a beautiful day for a grand opening ceremony and rifle salute.

On Saturday, we celebrated 20 years of "keeping the promise" with Barb McVaney at the Mountaineer Military Museum in downtown Weston. Flag ceremonies were handled by the American Legion and local dignitaries gave heart felt gratitude and support for the Museum's continued success.

The Lewis County Commission spoke about the community's pride in the Museum

All three members of the Commission read a proclamation in support of the Museum and the pride our community has in the Institution. They also remembered the work that Barb and her late husband put into making his promise to a fallen buddy a reality.

The Mayor of Weston spoke on the importance of remembrance and dedication to our community

Weston's Mayor Kim Harrison-Edwards spoke to the crowd about supporting cultural institutions and the importance of having this resource in downtown Weston.
