LCHS Homecoming Parade "Quiet Zone" details
Parade Update – New Quiet Zone
The City of Weston has approved the permit for this year’s Homecoming Parade with a new condition: a quiet zone will be in effect until the parade reaches Main Avenue.
This is the first time a Weston parade has included a quiet zone, and we hope it allows more people in our community to enjoy the event. The quiet zone is especially helpful for:
- Individuals with audio sensitivity or sensory processing challenges
- Families with young children or babies * Older residents who may find sirens and loud noises overwhelming
- Veterans and others with PTSD who may be startled by sudden noise
For those who enjoy the full sound of the marching bands and horns,
Main Avenue is the best spot to watch!
We hope this adjustment is well-received by the community. If it is, Weston City Council has expressed interest in making the quiet zone a standard feature of all parades moving forward.
Thank you for helping us make the parade a welcoming celebration for everyone!
Let’s go Minutemen! Lewis County Proud!
