Holt Square Goes Purple
The City of Weston offers a valuable resource for those facing addiction challenges through its Peer Liaison program, in partnership with First Choice Services. Lindsey Ables, our amazing Peer Liaison, is celebrating three years of her own sobriety, demonstrating that recovery is not just possible, it is achievable! With her genuine passion for helping others, Lindsey has made a remarkable impact in Weston. She actively engages with individuals on the streets, ready to support those seeking positive change in their lives. It’s truly inspiring to witness such dedication in our community! Thank you, Lindsey, for lighting up Holt Square. We encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on those who have struggled or are currently struggling and to remember that recovery is possible.
What Does “Goes Purple” Mean?
When a community “Goes Purple,” it represents a promise: You are not forgotten, your life matters, and there is hope. It celebrates those in recovery, honors their courage, and pays tribute to lives lost to overdose. This movement changes the narrative of our state from one defined by high overdose rates to a unified community embracing recovery. It is a collaborative effort driven by the hearts of West Virginians, particularly those dedicated to recovery support. When individuals, businesses, or organizations choose to “Go Purple,” they join thousands in a mission to raise awareness, spark conversations, break stigma, and inspire change.
